EV & Hybrid Collision Repair in Rockwall, Done in the Right Order
A battery car's crash structure has two jobs: protect the people inside and protect the pack underneath. We repair both, and we treat the high-voltage system with the respect it calls for.

The Battery Changes the Engineering
In an electric or hybrid car, the structure around the battery is built to keep the pack from being crushed or pierced in a crash. Side sills, floor crossmembers and underbody shields all play a part. After a collision, we need to know whether any of that moved, and we need to work safely around a system that can hold a dangerous charge even with the car shut off. So the order matters: identify the high-voltage layout, power it down by procedure, inspect, then repair. A fender bender on Horizon Road can still bend a shield under the pack, which is why we look underneath every time. When the car leaves, its structure, its battery protection and its electronics should all be working as designed.
How We Approach a Battery Car
These steps cover both the safety of the technicians and the safety of the car in any later collision.
Isolation steps from the service manual
The high-voltage system is disabled following the manufacturer's sequence, then verified dead with a meter before anyone works near it.
Protective gear rated for the voltage
Technicians use insulated gloves and tools near orange cables or the pack, and the car is tagged so no one reconnects it early.
Underbody and shield inspection
The car goes on a lift at approved points so we can look for scrapes, dents or cracks on the pack housing and its protective shields.
Sill and floor structure measured
The rocker panels and floor crossmembers that guard the battery are measured against factory dimensions, since they set how a side impact loads the pack.
Thermal lines looked over
Many packs use liquid cooling. We inspect lines and connections near the damage, because a slow leak can cause trouble long after the repair.
Booth temperature kept battery-safe
Paint curing heat stays within the limits the manufacturer sets for the pack, and some cars need the battery removed before refinishing.
Modules set up after the repair
Battery management, airbag and driver-assist modules are scanned. Any that need calibration or setup after the repair get it.
Careful re-energizing
The system is reconnected in order, checked for isolation faults and tested on a drive before you get the keys.
Our EV and Hybrid Repair Sequence
- Step 1
Identify and make safe
When the car arrives, we identify its high-voltage components and follow the power-down steps for that model. The car is verified safe and marked. Only then does the inspection begin. If the pack itself looks damaged, we explain your options plainly.
- Step 2
Inspect, plan and order
We look at the structure, the underbody and the cooling system as well as the visible panels. The estimate lists everything the procedure requires. Some EV parts take longer to arrive, so we order as soon as the plan is approved. You know the expected timeline up front.
- Step 3
Repair, reconnect and drive
Structure is corrected first, then panels and paint. The high-voltage system is brought back up and scanned. We drive the car on roads like SH 66 to check regenerative braking, steering assist and driver-assist features before handing it back.
Why Hybrid and EV Drivers Bring Cars Here
Procedures followed in order
There are no shortcuts around the power-down or the inspection. Each step is there because skipping it creates real risk.
The underside gets equal attention
Damage you can't see from the curb can still matter for battery protection. We look before we write the estimate.
Answers you can follow
We explain what the battery and its shields do in plain terms, so your decisions are informed. Drivers from Rowlett and Heath often arrive with questions, and we're glad to work through them.
Battery Car With Fresh Damage?
Tell us the make, the model and where it was hit. We'll explain what the inspection involves and how the repair would proceed.
